Georges Bizet
1838 – 1875
Bizet died at 36, just months after Carmen's premiere. His opera scandalized Paris — too real, too passionate. Today it's one of the most performed operas in the world. Tragedy gave us a masterpiece.

The swagger of the bullfighter. This crowd-pleasing tune is one of the most recognizable in all of opera.
L'Arlésienne - Farandole
Provençal sunshine in orchestral form. The farandole builds to an irresistible, foot-stomping climax.
